A bill that would allow assisted dying for the terminally ill passed a first vote in the U.K. Ramy Inocencio reports on what critic and proponents of the bill have to say.

MPs who voted in favour of the assisted dying bill have raised concerns about parts of it and want to see changes before giving it final approval. Some are worried about the bill's provisions to allow doctors to raise assisted dying as an option without the terminally ill patient having asked for it first.

Mr Saunders, who says his condition gives him a life expectancy of six to 12 years, has criticised the Government’s “rushed” Assisted Dying Bill, emphasising the need for public debate and proper consultation.
