The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Thursday launched an investigation into Google after online gaming firm WinZo accused the US tech giant of anti-competitive practices. In the order, the regulator asked its director-general to wrap up the probe and submit a report in 60 days.

After facing stiff penalties by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) over abuse of dominant position with regards to its Play Store and the Android mobile device ecosystem in 2022, the US tech giant now faces another investigation by the fairplay regulator over a complaint filed by gaming company WinZO.

According to the order, Winzo claimed that Google, through 'Google Play', requires third-party app developers to adhere to unilateral Developer Distribution Agreement and Developer Program Policies with unreasonable and unjust conditions in order to host their apps on the platform.
