Several agencies are currently responding to a wildfire that ignited in Nevada County Saturday afternoon. The fire is being referred to as the Dutch Fire and started around 3:30 p.m. in the Lowell Hill Road and Dutch Flat Powerhouse Road area.
Dutch Fire in Northern California reaches 45 acres, prompts evacuations in Nevada, Placer counties
The Dutch Fire sparked about 3:30 p.m. along Lowell Hill Road near the Dutch Flat Forebay’s dam in Nevada County and burned at a moderate rate of spread near the border with Placer County, according to Cal Fire’s Nevada-Yuba-Placer unit.
Evacuation orders issued in Nevada and Placer counties due to Dutch Fire
As for the Nevada County side, evacuation orders are place in Zone NCO-E220 from Lowell Hill from Dutch Flat Powerhouse to Mule Springs, the Nevada County Sheriff's Office. The rest of the zone is under an evacuation warning. Click here to see if evacuation orders or warnings fall in your area.
