Aaron Rodgers turns 41 on Monday and he won't be celebrating with a win. Rodgers and the Jets jumped out to a 21-7 lead at home against the Seahawks, but did not score again and the Seahawks were able to leave Jersey as 26-21 winners.

Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich was asked if he had considered benching quarterback Aaron Rodgers following another lackluster performance against Seattle and gave a surprising answer.

Rodgers' interception came midway through the second quarter. Defensive tackle Leonard Williams dropped back masterfully in coverage, tipped Rodgers' pass in the red zone, gathered the interception, and returned it 92 yards for the score. Even more, the pick-six was the longest in NFL history by a defensive lineman.

After a report stated that team owner Woody Johnson wanted to bench Rodgers early in 2024 surfaced, the team has gone on to deny any of those thoughts ever taking place. Most recently, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said there is “absolutely” no such conversations happening.

During his first press conference since a week of organizational upheaval, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed to tie his future with the team to the question of whether interim coach Jeff Ulbrich becomes the permanent head coach.

One candidate that will be considered is almost certainly interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich. Of note, Aaron Rodgers (whose future is uncertain in its own right) recently threw public support behind Ulbrich.
