A winter storm could bring more than a foot of snow to parts of northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, according to the National Weather Service. Gaylord is expected to get 13-18 inches of snow. Other predictions include 13-21 inches in Mancelona, 5-11 inches in Boyne City and 5-9 inches in Petoskey.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning at 8:30 a.m. EST on Friday in effect until Sunday at 7 a.m. EST for Leelanau, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Manistee and Wexford counties.
