The threat of stormy weather over the weekend has caused a Christmas event to change its plans.Organisers of the Great Grimsby Christmas on Saturday said a stage in the town's St James' Square would not be put up due to Storm Bert.

A town's Christmas lights switch-on has been cancelled due to Storm Bert. The event in King's Lynn was due to take place on Sunday in Tuesday Market Place, with the big turn-on at 17:00 GMT. King's Lynn and West Norfolk Council Borough Council said it took the decision "due to the current yellow weather warning and strong windy conditions".
