After an emotional debate, Parliament voted on Friday in favor of allowing assisted suicide for some terminally ill people in England and Wales.

The bill gives people the right to assisted suicide if they have a terminal illness and fewer than six months to live.

If it completes its passage into law, the Bill will allow terminally ill adults with less than six months to live to seek an assisted death with the approval of two doctors and a judge.

The law gives the right to terminally ill persons in England and Wales, who only have six months or less left to live and are mentally able, to decide to end their lives with medical assistance
