Despite a breast cancer diagnosis, Thanksgiving Grandma and the young man she met nearly a decade ago via an accidental text will continue their holiday tradition today for the ninth year in a row.

The Thanksgiving holiday is ripe with tradition, and that couldn't be more true for an Arizona woman who nine years ago texted the wrong number and sparked a seemingly everlasting friendship.

After meeting almost a decade ago entirely by chance, a grandmother in Arizona and the young stranger she now calls a friend will have Thanksgiving dinner together Thursday for the ninth year in a row.

Jamal Hinton and Wanda Dench will be meeting virtually this Thanksgiving amid Dench's cancer battle. Dench says since she is going through chemotherapy, she can't be around a lot of people, so she plans on FaceTiming Hinton on Nov.
