Gleason's quest to get back to the NHL will have to wait after the Oilers put him on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Bakersfield.

That's after five more players have been cut from training camp. Defencemen Ben Gleason and Phil Kemp, forward Lane Pederson, and goaltender Collin Delia have all been put on waivers, while waiver-exempt forward James Hamblin has also been sent down to the AHL.

The Edmonton Oilers announced that they have released Mike Hoffman from his professional tryout (PTO) on Monday. The veteran forward played in four games for the Oilers, scoring a goal and three assists.
