The family of a Denver teenager who was sitting in his car outside his school last year when he was shot and eventually died has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the school district.

No one's been charged in the death of Luis Garcia, but the lawsuit claims to know the juvenile who is responsible for shooting and killing him.

Luis was 16 years old when he was shot and killed outside East High. The lawsuit alleges DPS failed to protect Luis when it removed police officers from schools.
