The Gophers men’s basketball team has endured a plodding offense so far this season, but it stopped dead in its tracks at the end of Friday’s game against Wake Forest. Minnesota managed only one bucket in the final five minutes of a 57-51 loss to the Demon Deacons in the ESPN Events Invitational third-place game in Orlando, Florida.

Minnesota led at halftime but was unable to overcome the offensive dry spells that have been in play all season.

The Gophers found themselves in another slow-paced slugfest but came up short falling 57-51 to Wake Forest, picking up their second straight loss.

The Gophers will now head back home to try to get back on the right track against Bethune-Cookman on Sunday afternoon. That game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tipoff at Williams Arena, and the game will be streamed on B1G+.

Lu'Cye Patterson and Isaac Asuma led the team with 12 and 11 points, but the University of Minnesota fell to Wake Forest, 57-51, today to conclude the ESPN
