ROCKWALL – Fallen Greenville Police Officer Cooper Dawson will be laid to rest Tuesday morning. Dawson, 27, was killed in the line of duty on Nov. 25. Police said he was conducting a traffic stop that evening that led to a foot pursuit. While pursuing the suspect, Dawson was ambushed and shot multiple times.

Greenville Police Officer Cooper Dawson was remembered on Tuesday as a loving father and devoted police officer. Dawson was killed in the line of duty on Nov. 25.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday for Greenville Officer Cooper Dawson. Friends, family, and fellow first responders remembered him as a true hero.

A procession will be held Wednesday morning to honor Cooper Dawson, the first Greenville police officer to die in line of duty in over a century.

The funeral for Greenville Police Officer Cooper Dawson will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall.
