The Supreme Court has directed the Air Quality Management Committee (AQMC) to make a decision by tomorrow on whether schools in Delhi-NCR can resume physical classes or if online education should continue.

Schools in Delhi can open now despite the high pollution levels, the Supreme Court said today, pointing to three issues that will not get solved if students stay home.

The Supreme Court also observed that the Delhi government did not properly follow Group 4 guidelines between November 18 and 23. Appropriate steps were not taken to stop trucks from coming to Delhi.

The Supreme Court upheld GRAP-4 restrictions, directing states to utilise labour cess for worker support during the construction ban. It criticized the Delhi government's non-compliance with truck entry restrictions and instructed CAQM to take action.
