The search continues for the person, or people, responsible for a mass shooting at a birthday party Monday afternoon on the city's Southwest Side.Eight people—four men and four women—were shot around 2 p.

Three people died and five others were injured after a mass shooting inside a home in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police said.

The town of Apaseo el Grande, and its sister community of Apaseo el Alto, have been hit by mass shooting attacks in recent years which experts say are related to warring drug cartels. There have been a series of mass shootings at bars, clubs and businesses in the area since at least 2018.

Mayor Brandon Johnson condemned the attack and offered condolences to the victims in a social media post Tuesday. “There is no place in our city for senseless acts of violence.”

One more alleged gunman is still on the run more than a week after five people, including the two-year-old girl, were found shot inside of an SUV in Jackson, Tennessee.

At least six people were shot, and two of them were killed, in the Southwest Side's Chicago Lawn neighborhood Monday afternoon. The shooting happened near 59th Street and St. Louis Avenue. The four wounded victims were all in critical condition,
