On Thursday, OpenAI announced a beta "canvas" feature for writing and coding. Canvas is different from the traditional chatbox interface, which makes it tedious to refine or develop ideas without the back and forth prompts.

Unlike Anthropic's Artifacts, the Canvas interface includes a novel menu of shortcuts for common tasks such as finalizing a document, suggesting edits, and adding emojis. Users can adjust writing length (short to long) or vary topical complexity ("kindergarten" to "graduate school" level) using sliders.

Now, users can view the ChatGPT interface on the right of the project to ask questions about the project without losing the flow of the conversation. When opened on the project, t
